He has also served as Defensive Coordinator at Iona University, Special Teams Coordinator at West Virginia Tech; Defensive Coordinator at Canisius College, and Special Teams Coordinator at Southern Connecticut University; Dan was a LB at Syracuse from 1990–1994, winning All Big East honours in 1994 and serving as Team Captain of the Orange. |
| Sonny Wolfe Head Coach, McGill University Redmen Sonny Wolfe is the Head Coach of the McGill Redmen University Football Team. He was appointed as the 19th head football coach in McGill University history in April, 2007. Heading into the 2010 season, he owns a career 83-79 coaching record in CIS regular-season competition. He began his CIS coaching career by serving as an assistant coach at McGill for eight seasons under head coach Charlie Baillie from 1976 to 1983. Sonny left McGill in 1984 for Acadia University in Wolfville, NS, where he served 19 years as head coach, through the 2002 season. He posted an 83-63 regular-season record (.568) and an 86-75 mark overall (.534), guiding the Axemen to 16 post-season appearances and reaching the Atlantic University Sport conference final 12 times. He led Acadia to three championship seasons (1986, 1995 and 1998), and won AUS coach of the year honours twice (1986 and 1995). |
| Brent Steuerwald Head Coach, Shenendehowa HS, Clifton Park, New York Brent Steuerwald is the Head Coach of Shenendehowa HS, New York. His teams have won 300 games and he is only the third coach in New York State history to reach that level. In 1968, Brent started the Shenendehowa program, which was top-ranked in New York State in 1982-1984 and reached the state championship game in 1995 and 2002. His Plainsmen, who were state semifinalists in 2003 and won a regional title in 1992, have won 10 Section II championships and 25 Suburban Council crowns. His awards include National High School Athletic Coaches Association Football Coach of the Year (1995), New York State Champion Coach of the Year (1981), New York State Coaches Association Coach of the Year (1982, 1988, 1992 and 1995), Region One Winner National Coach of the Year (1982, 1985, 1988, 1992, and 1995), and Empire State Scholastic Sports Figure of the Year (1988). Brent has been named area or league coach of the year 19 times. In January of 2011, Brent will be awarded the American Football Coaches Association's Power of Influence Award that is given to the high school coach who has had an impact on his players, school, and community. This will be given in Dallas,Texas at the AFCA Annual Convention. |
| Ryan Bechmanis Special Teams Coordinator, Queen's University Gaels Ryan Bechmanis is the Special Teams Coordinator for the Vanier Cup Champion, Queen's Gaels. He began coaching in 2003 as a Special Olympics volunteer coach for soccer and basketball. In 2004, he was an assistant coach with the Kingston Limestone Grenadiers of the OVFL. He went to Denmark in 2006 as defensive and special teams coordinator in Esbjerg, returning to Queen's as an assistant coach in 2007. In 2008, he was an assistant coach of the U-17 Eastern Ontario team, the bronze medallists at the Football Canada Cup. From 2006 to 2007, Ryan was the Long-Term Athlete Development researcher for Football Canada and the general manager of the Eastern Ontario U-17 football team. In 2007, he was assistant coordinator of the Royal Canadian Legion's national track and field meet. In 2007-2008, he was a home events assistant at Queen's University and currently works as a marketing assistant at the university. |
| Jacques Chapdelaine Offensive Coordinator, BC Lions Jacques Chapdelaine (Tentative – to be finalized post CFL season) Jacques begins his seventh season with the Lions and second stint as offensive coordinator after originally joining the club in 2003 as the team's receivers coach. In 2005, Jacques was promoted to the offensive coordinator position which culminated in a Grey Cup championship in 2006 and an opportunity to join the Edmonton Eskimos for the 2007 season.Jacques rejoined the Lions in 2008 as receivers coach and also served in that role for the 2009 campaign. Jacques' role as 'OC' will also include tutoring club's talented stable of quarterbacks. Jacques' coaching career began at Bishop's University in 1990 where he was hired as the school's offensive coordinator. In 1991, he got his first taste of the CFL as a guest coach with the Toronto Argonauts. Jacques' first pro coaching job would come the following season with Toronto as the club's special teams and receivers coach.In 1994, Jacques returned to Bishop's as the offensive coordinator and would eventually move on to Laval University in 1997 as the school's head coach. Over five seasons with the Rouge et Or he compiled a record of 27-13, and led Laval to a Vanier Cup championship in 1999. Chapdelaine returned to the CFL in 2001 with the Calgary Stampeders as special teams and receivers coach. The club would go on to win the 2001 Grey Cup and Jacques would be promoted to offensive coordinator for the 2002 campaign. |
| Bob Vespaziani Defensive Line Coach, Queen's University Gaels Bob Vespaziani has an extensive coaching resume and will once again be on the defensive side of the ball this season for his 52nd coaching year and 4th with the Gaels. Vespaziani was a defensive consultant for six years with the Saskatchewan Roughriders. He is no stranger to the CFL, coaching such clubs as Calgary, Winnipeg, and B.C., appearing in the Grey Cup seven times and winning three championship. Before the CFL he spent 10 seasons at Acadia University, and was inducted into the Acadia Hall of Fame as Coach and Builder. |
